The Sleepover

Back in high school, my friends and I spent one summer-overnight up in the mountains. Since one of my friends owned a farm and a house there, we wanted to have a bonding session away from home plus experience different kinds of summer activities. It was technically our first time spending the break out of town together with some farm animals and a different kind of weather. It was also our chance to have fun roasting hotdogs and marshmallows in a bonfire and to stargaze before going to sleep.

The experience was great, and soon after, we found ourselves spending the sembreak in that same farmhouse the year after.

One afternoon by the piano

Around a week ago, I, together with my sister and a friend, was in a mall and by the new wing of restaurants where there was a piano, to play some songs while it was vacant. You see, the area would be usually flooded with music enthusiasts and pianists since it was the only public piano in that mall, so while we were there we chanced upon the place while not much people were around. That time, we met a man, probably on his late 50s (since he told me through our course of conversation that he was already retiring). He saw our tiny 'jamming' session and approached us, noticing that we weren't using the piano chair. We explained that it was starting to break so we decided not to use it instead, and this was where our conversation started.

Summer Sky

Looks like someone's been enjoying the summer break for too long.

At last, I finally have something to post once again. Just a few hours ago I went outside to take some pictures of the sky, one of my favorite hobbies. I initially wanted to see the partial lunar eclipse that was supposedly today (or tonight for that matter) but I misread the date and went outside "too early".

Well, so much for that, here they are.

Faces of Hell Month

Hello, everyone!

It's been a long month since my last post. What happened to me? Hell month happened.

Because of finals and deadlines fast approaching, March became a toxic and stressful month for us students. You had exams falling on the same day, papers and group paper deadlines here and there, reports and class outputs to submit, and for the graduating students, thesis defense and last academic requirements to finish the sem. Plus, you had finals and submissions to deal with after the Holy Week holidays. Luckily though, all my workload was due before the Holy Week break so I basically started summer early.

In the meantime, Happy April Fool's, everyone!

Unexpected rains

Because of the hot weather and sunny days during the past few weeks, I decided to bring a camera to school one day to get some ideas for my next entry. I thought it'd be nice to spend some time taking pictures of anything outdoor-related.

At 12:45 am,

I tried to enter the bedroom as quietly as I could. This was the nth time I crammed and finished school work late again. I had to open the door slowly and not too wide so it wouldn't creak. It didn't matter if I had to squeeze myself through a small space just to secretly get in; if anyone heard me coming in the room so late at night, it would mean deep trouble for me.

I successfully entered and made my way to the bathroom. I closed the door behind me before switching on the lights. I had to make sure no light would get to the bedroom; I stayed with light sleepers you see, so any form of disturbance would wake them up. I quickly got ready for bed, quietly turned off the lights, exited the bathroom, and made my way to the bed.

The room was very dark.

A random story about how I spent some 30 minutes

Since my last post, I've been having difficulty coming up with something to write about. It was a bad two-week writer's block for me, and with school work piling up, it wasn't a good sign. Until yesterday morning, when I decided to take my camera to school, I saw a pipe...

Under the stars: Wishes, dreams, and other things

Every night, whenever I get the chance to look out the window, I look forward to seeing the stars. Cloudy skies or clear, I never get tired of looking at them. At other times, when I get over my fear of the dark, I go outside and try my luck with identifying constellations. Sometimes, I'd bring a camera along to shoot some star trails and planets. And sometimes, with wishful thinking, I'd hope to take a photo of a shooting star.

On being twins (Questions people ask)

A lot of people get fascinated whenever they encounter a pair of twins. I myself have an identical twin sister and based on experience, we get different kinds of reactions when people first meet us. Getting shocked would be their initial reaction. For some, they get amazed. Others, amusingly, doubt we're actually twins probably because of the different glasses frames or the clothes we wear. I remember even someone insisting that we were "supposed" to be fraternal since we "looked" different (at least from how she saw us).

Not only do they get interested on the fact that we look alike; they also ask us questions about anything twin-related, from very shallow questions to the very experience of having a twin. Since I could remember, we were given a lot of interesting and amusing questions by different kinds of people, including close friends and relatives. Because of that, I decided to compile some of the many questions we have encountered so far and post a few comments about them. Hopefully, this can also satisfy some of the questions you may have about twins in general. So, here it goes:

Some random thoughts while crocheting

Parts of a long-due sheep plush that I was working on a few hours ago.
If one were to observe someone knitting, or crocheting quietly at a corner perhaps, one would think that he or she is too preoccupied with his or her work to think about something else. In my case, I think about a lot of things whenever I crochet.

Something under the tree

Aside from the Christmas gifts and goodies under our Christmas tree, what did I "find"?

Greeting 2013

Happy 2013, everyone!

How was your first day of the New Year? I hope you enjoyed yourselves very much especially with the fireworks and noise-making.

To start of this first 2013 post, here's a little something I was able to catch during the celebration:
